Privacy Policy

Effective date: 19 August 2026 • AHENK version 1.0

This policy describes the data handling behavior of the current publicly distributed version of AHENK.

1. Overview

AHENK is a passenger-comfort research application designed to record journey-context information, iPhone motion-sensor measurements, and participant-reported discomfort events.

2. Data recorded by the app

3. Local storage

In AHENK 1.0, research recordings are stored locally on the device. The current version does not provide cloud synchronization, remote backup, advertising, or third-party analytics for research recordings.

4. Data transmission

AHENK 1.0 is designed so that the research recordings described above remain on the user’s device. The app does not require an AHENK account or user login to record journeys.

5. Data control and deletion

Users can permanently delete locally stored AHENK research data from the app’s Settings screen by using Reset Local Research Data. Deleted local records cannot be recovered by AHENK.

6. Identifying information

The current app workflow does not require the user to provide a name, surname, email address, phone number, postal address, national identification number, or account credentials in order to record journeys.

7. Research and medical-use limitation

AHENK is intended for research use and descriptive observation. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment recommendations, motion-sickness risk prediction, or validated clinical outcomes.

8. Children

AHENK is not specifically designed or directed to children. Researchers and users are responsible for ensuring that use is appropriate for their study population and complies with applicable consent and research-governance requirements.

9. Changes

This policy may be updated when AHENK’s features or data practices change. The effective date above identifies the version currently in force.
